Crossing the river: there are gaps with no crossing
West Dawson and Sunnydale reach town by the George Black ferry in summer (about mid-May to mid-October) and the ice bridge in winter. At freeze-up (roughly late October to mid-December) and break-up (roughly mid-April to mid-May), neither runs and the river can't be crossed by vehicle. Check status on 511 Yukon (phone 511 or 1-867-456-7623) before you set out.
Recycling depot is open Wednesday to Saturday
The Conservation Klondike Society recycling depot on Rabbit Creek Road takes drop-offs Wednesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. only. Outside those hours there's no attended drop-off.
