Where to park downtown, what's free, and how to pay with ParkMobile so you don't get a ticket.
Where to park downtown, what's free, what costs money, and how to pay so you don't come back to a ticket. Galena's paid lots aren't metered — you pay with your phone — so it's easy to miss that payment is required.
Where can I park downtown for free?
Several spots are free all day. Water Street has free on-street parking. Free all-day lots include the lot by the Old Train Depot (reached from Park Avenue / Bouthillier Street), the lot south of the U.S. 20 bridge on the west side (Gear Street access), and the Spring Street lot.
Some downtown on-street spaces are free but limited to 3 hours — check the signs.
Which lots are paid, and how much?
Four municipal lots are paid. Commerce Street (between Green and Washington), South Main Street (the 400 block), and City Hall (101 Green Street) are $10 for all day. The Meeker Street lot is $5 on weekends and free Monday–Friday.
The City Hall lot is open to the public after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, plus all day on weekends and holidays.
