Official Canadian Hydrographic Service tide predictions for Iqaluit — today's highs and lows and the week ahead, for the small-craft harbour, the flats and going out on the water.

Frobisher Bay has some of the biggest tides in the world — the water swings roughly 7 to 11 metres between low and high, and on the big spring tides the high water reaches about 11 metres above chart datum. That sets when you can launch from the small-craft harbour, when the flats and clam beds are bared, and how far the ice edge moves. These are the Canadian Hydrographic Service's official predictions for the Iqaluit gauge in Koojesse Inlet.
Predictions, not the live water
These are astronomical tide predictions. Strong winds, storm surge and low pressure can push the real water higher or lower than the tables, and sea ice changes what you see on the water. Give yourself margin, and tell someone your plan before you go out.

Heights are above chart datum — roughly the lowest tide on the nautical charts — not above the wharf deck or the street. Times are local (EDT). The gauge sits at Iqaluit, in Koojesse Inlet at the head of Frobisher Bay — heights are for the water off town: the small-craft harbour, the breakwater and the beach. The deep-sea port (opened 2023) has an all-tide ramp built for this range. Out toward the islands and down the bay the timing runs a little different.
Predictions, not measurements
These are astronomical tide predictions. Wind, air pressure and storm surge can push the real water level well above or below them — in bad weather, check the Environment Canada forecast and warnings at weather.gc.ca before trusting a number here. There is no 911 service in Nunavut. For trouble on or near the water at Iqaluit, call the RCMP at (867) 979-1111 or Fire and Ambulance at (867) 979-4422. On the water, Iqaluit Coast Guard Radio (MCTS Iqaluit, call sign VFF) monitors marine VHF channel 16.
