Bernwood Road play area
Off Bernwood Road, Barton. One of the longest slides around, plus a sand pit, zip wire, nest swing and roundabout.
Blackbird Leys
Blackbird Leys Park playgrounds
In Blackbird Leys Park, next to Leys Pools and Leisure Centre. Two play areas with a sand pit, zip wire and timber play, a climbing wall and nets, and a fenced baby area by the main playground.
Gillians Park playground
Off Primrose Place, Blackbird Leys. Fenced playground with slides, swings, tyre swings and rockers, and a separate rope-climbing frame across the field.
Botley & Dean Court
Botley Park playground
In Botley Park, off Botley Road by the community centre. Climbing frames, roundabouts, swings and springers, with a zip wire and a multi-use games area alongside.
Pinnocks Way play park
By Dean Court Community Centre, off Pinnocks Way (just over the city line in Botley). Known for its huge rope climbing frame — ladders, monkey bars and rope buckets to scramble between.
East Oxford
East Oxford Adventure Playground
Off Meadow Lane, near the river (OX4 1TL). Big open-access playground: zip wire, sand pit, a high climbing frame with tunnel slide, and swings of all kinds. No toilets on site.
Florence Park playgrounds
In Florence Park, between Cornwallis Road and Rymers Lane. Three play areas around the park, with a zip wire, timber play and a sand pit. Tennis courts and Flo's Cafe are in the park too.
Manzil Way Gardens playground
In Manzil Way Gardens, just off Cowley Road. Small fenced playground set back from the road, next to East Oxford Primary School.
South Park playground
Near the top of South Park, off Cheney Lane. Play area with a zip wire, and a wide view over the city below.
Headington
Bury Knowle Park playground
In Bury Knowle Park, off London Road, Headington. Narnia-inspired play area: sand pits, a pirate play feature, swings, a zip wire, climbing rocks and timber frames.
Girdlestone Road play area
On the corner of Girdlestone Road and The Slade, Headington. Rope swing, climbing frames, a slide, swings, rockers and a toddler obstacle course.
Quarry Hollow play area
Off Quarry High Street, Headington Quarry. A small neighbourhood playground in a quiet hollow — a few pieces of equipment, not a destination.
Marston
Marston Road play park
Off Marston Road, near Jack Straw's Lane (OX3 0FD). Separate climbing frames for toddlers and bigger kids, tyre swings and balancing logs, with ponds and little bridges beside it.
Old Marston playground
On the recreation ground off Oxford Road, Old Marston. Fenced playground with a climbing fort and slides, a zip wire, roundabout and swings; basketball court alongside.
North Oxford
Cutteslowe Park playgrounds
In Cutteslowe Park, North Oxford (OX2 8NP). Three play areas across the park — two on the Cutteslowe side, one on the Sunnymead side — plus a splash feature from the first May bank holiday, a concrete skate park, and a miniature railway April to October.
South Oxford
Hinksey Park playground
In Hinksey Park, off Abingdon Road. Large play area with a sand pit, a free splash park in summer, and a mini wheels track for bikes and scooters all year.
South Oxford Adventure Playground
Behind Grandpont Children's Centre, off Whitehouse Road. Free, supervised adventure play run by the SOAP charity. Opening days and ages vary between term time and holidays — check before you go.
Wolvercote
Lower Wolvercote play area
On the recreation ground off Godstow Road, Lower Wolvercote. A small fenced play area on the green near Port Meadow and the Wolvercote lakes.
