Winter (June–August) is the off-season here: the chairlift and the seal cruises close, and a few cafés keep irregular hours. The grocery, fuel and essentials stay open.
The IGA supermarket & newsagency on Church Street is open 7 days and its card fuel pump runs 24 hours — the reliable backstop when other places are shut. For a full supermarket shop, Woolworths at Smithton is about 20 minutes away.
