Emergencies: 112, 125 or 140
For police call 112, for fire or rescue call the Civil Defense on 125, and for an ambulance call the Lebanese Red Cross on 140 or the Civil Defense on 125. All are free national numbers.
Power cut in Tripoli? Call BUS, not EDL
State electricity in North Lebanon is distributed by a private operator, BUS (BUTEC Utility Services). For a fault on the state supply — a downed line, a meter problem, no state power when there should be — their call centre is 1576, around the clock. EDL itself has no public fault line. Your private generator subscription (ishtirak) is separate again, and you take that up with your own operator.
