The campus development
Where the 447-home redevelopment of the old Oxford Brookes campus stands — homes, affordable share, contributions and timeline, with the official planning sources.
The biggest change in the village in decades: the old Oxford Brookes campus on Waterperry Road is becoming 447 homes. Here is where the scheme stands, in plain words, with the official sources to follow it.
The Wheatley campus: 447 new homes
ComingReserved-matters approval for 447 homes was announced on 6 August 2025; the developer says building is anticipated to start during 2026. As of mid-June 2026 there is no confirmed report of work having begun on site.
The former Oxford Brookes Wheatley campus is being redeveloped by Crest Nicholson into 447 homes — a mix of houses and flats, 35% of them affordable, built to a zero-carbon-ready standard with heat pumps and electric-car charging.
Outline permission for up to 500 homes was granted on appeal by the Secretary of State in April 2020; the detailed 447-home scheme (the "reserved matters") was approved in 2025. The developer expects the first homes to be completed towards the end of 2027.
