Garbage, Recycling & Green Cart
What goes out each week in the Town of Lunenburg's four-stream collection, the 6 a.m. set-out, summer weekly compost, and where to look up your exact day.
The Town of Lunenburg collects four sorted streams on a two-week cycle. Your collection day depends on which street you live on — look it up below. The part people most often mix up: recyclable paper goes out in its own clear bag, separate from the blue-bag recyclables, and the streams alternate from week to week. Here is what goes out each kind of week, with the rules and where to find your exact day.
Find your collection day
Which weekday your street is collected, and whether this is a Week A or Week B, is set by route. Look up your address with South Shore Waste Solutions (the regional service, at southshorewaste.ca or R6recycles) to see your day and which streams go out next.
Summer: the green cart goes out every week
From July 8 to August 28, organics (the green cart) are collected weekly instead of every second week, so the simple A-then-B pattern shifts through the warm months. Check your address listing for the summer dates.
