Reine sits on Moskenesøya, reached by a single road — the E10. This shows NVE's official daily danger levels for the hazards that close it and the mountains around the village: landslides and floods all year, and avalanches through the winter season.

This is the hazard forecast — not the live road status
This page shows NVE's everyday flood, landslide and (in winter) avalanche danger levels for Moskenes. Whether the E10 is actually open, closed by a rockslide, avalanche or wind, or the Bodø car ferry is cancelled, is decided and announced separately by Statens vegvesen and the ferry operator. A green forecast does not mean the road is open — always check the live road status below before you set out.

Where to check
In an emergency call 110 (fire), 112 (police) or 113 (ambulance). For urgent medical help that is not an emergency, the legevakt is 116117. Varsom.no carries the official flood, landslide and avalanche warnings; Statens vegvesen has the live E10 road status; the Bodø–Moskenes car ferry (Torghatten Nord) is the other way off the island, and weather can cancel sailings.
Reine sits on Moskenesøya, reached by one through-road — the E10. A rockslide, avalanche or severe winter wind can close it at short notice and turn buses back; there is no alternative route off the island except the Bodø car ferry. When a landslide or avalanche warning is raised, expect the road to be part of the story.
Reinebringen closes in winter
The 1,978-step Sherpa stairway up Reinebringen is chained shut through the avalanche season — roughly October to late April — and can close for maintenance or safety in summer too. When the avalanche danger is raised, treat the mountains around the village as off-limits and check reinebringen.no before setting out.
